Basanta Utsab / Fiesta de Colores

Hi Toton,
How are you? We went to Shantinekatan for basanta festival. It was lots of fun with your family and friends, but you are not there. we realy miss you.
As you know :
Shantiniketan is a small town near Bolpur in the Birbhum District of West Bengal and about 212 kms north of Kolkata. It is famous due to Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, whose vision became what is now a University town - Visva-Bharati University.

For Bengalis, Basanta Utsab at Visva-Bharati in Santiniketan is the place to be during Dol or the Holi festival. At this university created by Rabindranath Tagore, Dol is played with dry colours.Boys and girls joyfully welcome Spring, the season of hope not just with colours but with songs, dance, chanting of hymns in the serene ambiance of Shantiniketan. They greet spring not only with colors, but also with songs, music and interesting rhymes. The cultural fest organized here, on this day, offers some spectacular performances of arts and crafts, by the students of Vishwabharti University.
They sing beautiful songs and also dance to the tune of pleasurable music in groups. They greet spring not only with colors, but also with songs, music and interesting rhymes. The cultural fest organized here, on this day, offers some spectacular performances of arts and crafts, by the students of Vishwabharti University.
